Your Child’s First Dental Visit
Before we discuss your child’s first dental appointment, allow us to welcome you to Brush Pediatric Dentistry! As a pediatric dentist in Downers Grove and Hinsdale, we are pleased you have chosen us to care for your child’s oral health and development. As your child’s dental home, we promise to take great care of their smile.
During your child’s first visit to our office, one of our highly-skilled and trained pediatric dentists, Dr. Albert, Dr. Bollow, Dr. Rizzo, Dr. Gripentrog, or Dr. Karamchandani will begin by introducing themselves to you and your little one. We understand the dentist’s office can be scary, especially with all the sights, sounds, and smells. This is why our dental offices in Hinsdale and Downers Grove are designed to be as kid-friendly as possible! By slowly and gently getting your child used to this environment as well as the regular faces they will see, this will help to decrease any anxiety or fear they might have about seeing the dentist.
Depending on the age of your child, we will begin by discussing proper oral health tips, including brushing and flossing techniques. We will then quickly perform a thorough examination of their oral cavity, checking for signs of tooth decay. If necessary, we will also capture digital X-rays of their smile and go over any necessary treatment plans to help improve your child’s smile. At the end of every visit, our patients get to select a reward from our super amazing Brush treasure chest packed with all types of fun goodies!

Late Arrival Guideline
At Brush Pediatric Dentistry, we believe your time is precious, which is why we work hard to remain on time for all patient appointments. Not only do we want to give you and your child the personalized attention and time you deserve, but we never want you to feel as if you are being rushed and cannot ask necessary questions.
Although being on time is a core value of ours, we do understand that situations occur that are out of your control. Should you arrive late for your appointment, we will do everything in our power to accommodate you. Below is our late arrival policy:
Should you and your child arrive more than 7 minutes late for a scheduled appointment, we may need to reschedule if:
- The remaining time is not enough for you or our team to properly devote the personalized attention needed for the appointment.
- The late arrival will cause our team to be delayed in seeing the next patient for their scheduled appointment.
Remember, we will always do our very best to accommodate you and your child should you arrive late to an appointment. If there are other available time slots on the same day, we will be happy to recommend one of those options.
Appointment Cancellation Guideline
Our team understands that life doesn’t always go as planned. Situations arise that are out of your control, causing you to spin into a frenzy to try and reschedule necessary meetings and appointments. Should you learn that you will need to cancel your child’s dental appointment, please make sure to contact us as soon as possible. This will allow us to reschedule their appointment for a more convenient time.
We do require that you contact us at least two business days before your appointment if you wish to cancel or reschedule. If you do not, we may apply a cancellation fee to your account. Should late cancellations become a normal occurrence, we reserve the right to charge a deposit to hold an open time for your child’s visit.
Dental Insurance
We are pleased to be an insurance-friendly dental practice and proudly accept all PPO insurance plans. If you would like to learn more about your benefits and how to maximize them for the most effective coverage, please don’t hesitate to call our office and ask to speak to a friendly team member. It’s not uncommon for many of our patients to feel overwhelmed when it comes to understanding dental insurance, so we will make this part of the process as stress-free as possible. Not only will we verify your insurance, but we’ll also file any necessary paperwork and claims on your behalf.
Financing Available
Oftentimes, if a specific treatment is necessary, patients ask about available payment plans. At Brush Pediatric Dentistry, we are pleased to work closely with a third-party financier who offers low and no interest payment plans. If you are interested, please contact our office to learn more about what financing plans we work with.
